November 5th 2008 front pages: U.S. and around the world

The Newseum (museum of all things news) keeps an archive of front pages from newspapers around the globe. These are some from November 5, the day after the presidential election . A couple are a little odd (what's up with Austria and the Under Construction sign on the White House?) At least one went to press before the election was called, like Belgeum with the slightly creepy upside down image of Obama; or Australia, with the photo of Obama after voting and the mis-matched headline about a "Massive Victory Party."

I am still kind of in shock...it is like witnessing history, stuff we only read about in history books.
